Edit My Novel

writer's perspective. We always seek to offer honest, but constructive criticism. We always look for the positive attributes in your work, as well as the parts of your novel that need strengthening. We want to consider the novel as a whole and we take your work as seriously as you do.

After the editing is complete, you will receive your Word document with editing changes in "track changes" mode, so you can have the option of incorporating them into your work or deleting them if you choose.  You also will receive an Editorial Letter. All editors at large publishing houses include an editorial letter with the marked manuscript. You will receive a similar letter. In it, we'll detail your strengths and your weaknesses, as well as our opinion on broader issues such as commercial viability, pace of the novel, character development and overall quality. Each Editorial Letter will be personalized to your manuscript.

How long will editing take?
Typical edits take about two to three weeks, and depend on the number of manuscripts Cara is currently editing. Cara will let you know about how long the edits will take.
